Kate Pinson established Hunter Mews Designs in Alexandria, Virginia in 2003, after many years of travel and design experience abroad. Schooled in both Virginia and London, England in Art, Design and Architecture, Kate’s passion and creativity have produced countless projects overseas in England, France, Pakistan, China and Italy. In the United States, her projects range from California to South Carolina, North Carolina and of course near her home base of Virginia. Her attention to detail and ability to marry eclecticism and traditional, classic design in fresh new ways has earned her many accolades. Her own home in Olde Towne Alexandria, earned First Place in the 2004 Alexandria Residential Design competition and has been open for two tours, for the benefit of Alexandria’s Campagna Center and as part of The Virginia Historic Garden Club tours. Her home was also featured in the Chesapeake Home magazine. Kate works primarily in residential design and assists architects and homeowners on the finer points of structural design.
Kate continues to travel overseas for both inspiration and projects, and enjoys looking for unique finds, especially in Europe, for her clients. Her list of contacts and resources in the Northern Virginia area is extensive. She is a member of the Interior Design Society and stays involved in many community events.
